Christmas trees are a staple in most of our homes
during the holidays and, while having a pet around
the tree can be troublesome, there are ways to
ensure the two coexist peacefully.

YOUR PET AND THE
CHRISTMAS TREE
Anchor your tree.
You can do this by either making sure you
purchase a sturdier stand than most or by using wires to attach it to
the wall. This will be especially helpful if you have cats as they have
been known to climb Christmas trees and knock them over.
Place ornaments carefully.
If you have any glass or family
heirlooms on your tree, it is best to place them towards the top of
the tree. If you have especially playful pets, it might be best to run
to your local dollar store and purchase some cheap ornaments for
the bottom layers.
Avoid edible ornaments.
This might be a no-brainer, but it might
mean forgoing the strings of popcorn and candy canes. Having
these types of temptations on your tree can lead to big trouble
with a pet around.
