NO-FRY, FRIED ICE CREAM
There’s always ice cream lurking in the
freezer during the holidays. So make some
No Fry Fried Ice Cream with your kids. Since
there’s no actual frying involved—how do
you fry ice cream anyway?—it’s easy and
safe for kids.
Ingredients
1 scoop ice cream vanilla or flavor of
choice
1/2 cup favorite cereal (Fruity Pebbles,
anyone?), crushed, if needed
1 tablespoon butter melted
2 tablespoons brown sugar
whipped cream
chocolate strawberry and/or caramel
topping
Instructions
Scoop ice cream, place on baking sheet
and place in freezer to firm up.
Put 1/2 cup of cereal, melted butter and
brown sugar into a bowl and stir to
combine
Coat frozen ice cream ball with cereal
mixture. It’s much easier to do this with
your clean hands versus a spoon. Push in
on the cereal so it sticks good.
Refreeze if needed
Garnish with whipped cream and syrup of
choice.
Watch for smiles.
BAKED DONUTS
Baked donuts are a fun thing to do in the
kitchen with the kids. No hot oil is involved
so it is safe!
Ingredients

cup sour cream
2
eggs
11/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1/2 cup canola oil
1
cup sugar
2
cups flour
1
teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
Glaze
11/2 cups powdered sugar
3-4 tablespoons milk enough to make
nice dipping consistency
1/2 teaspoon vanilla or other flavoring of
choice
Toppings
sprinkles, mini chocolate chips, mini
M&M’s

Instructions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees and grease
donut pan.
Mix together sour cream, egg, vanilla, oil
and sugar in a bowl. Add in flour, baking
soda and salt and stir until combined.
Place batter into a large zippered plastic
bag. Close and snip off corner.
Squeeze batter into donut pan. Fill pan
with batter (about 2/3 full) and bake for
12-15 minutes or until golden brown and
top springs back when touched.
Remove from pan and allow to cool on
wire rack.
Glaze
Mix together powdered sugar, vanilla and
milk. Add enough milk to make a nice
dipping consistency.
Dip donuts and then sprinkle with desired
toppings.
Eat!
