Also, the feeling of babies moving around
inside is one of the best feelings in the
world. I think I could definitely have a
chance at taking home the Gold if being

Do you have any New Year’s
Resolutions?
I do, but I’ve already started on it. My main
resolution is to be an advocate and
outspoken voice for human and civil
rights. To me, this means that each and
every time that I hear or see something
that is racist, homophobic, ableist, sexist,
xenophobic, etc., I speak out against it.
This also means that I listen to and believe
the experiences of these marginalized
groups. I love the quote by Martin Luther
King Jr., “Our lives begin to end the day we
become silent about things that matter.”
If you could snap your fingers and
fix one problem in the world, what
would it be?
I would eradicate hate. Living in a world
without hate would not only feel wonder-
ful, but it would instantly solve so many
other problems.

do again?
I’m extremely cautious of saying that I
would “never” do something. Before I
became a mom, I said I would never do all

pie for breakfast, put on a movie for him
just so I can have some time to myself, let
him stay inside playing video games on a
sunny day. And now look at me. All of
those things might happen in a single day!
